Golden Child’s Jangjun’s Pre-Debut
Jangjun made his debut in 2017. At that time, he was only 20 years old or 21 years old in Korean age. He was quite young when he made his debut. But, do you know that he was much younger when he decided to leave his hometown to be a trainee in Seoul? Let’s see the full story of Jangjun’s pre-debut! Jangjun was born and raised in Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Jangjun who was born on March 3, 1997, lived with his parents along with his older sister who was born in 1993. Jangjun spent his childhood and teenage life in Gyeonggi-do. Just like how we see him right now, he was an active child. Jangjun is the son of a police officer. His father was born in 1965. If Jangjun followed his father’s path, he would probably already be a police officer right now. But, he didn’t because he chose the path to be an idol instead. Jangjun decided to join an audition for Woollim Entertainment in 2014. At that time, he was still in high school. But thankfully, he passed the audition. This meant that he had to leave his school in Gyeonggi and attend a high school in Seoul. Jangjun was determined to be an idol, so he went to a school that focused on performing arts. While becoming a trainee, Jangjun attended a school that improved his ability in performing both dancing and singing. He also became a backup dancer for Infinite. Jangjun spent years in trainee life. It could be considered a long time, but at least it wasn’t that long compared to other idols who have to be a trainee for over 5 years. In August 2017, finally, there was hope for the male trainees in Woollim Entertainment. Jangjun and other trainees who have spent years working hard finally had a chance to debut. Jangjun became one of the members of a new boy group from Woollim Entertainment called Golden Child. The group consists of Daeyeol, Y, Jangjun, Tag, Seungmin, Jaehyun, Jibeom, Donghyun, Joochan, and Bomin. The first teaser of Golden Child was released at the beginning of August. Their concept was just as bright as the summer.
In that short video, Woollim Entertainment released an announcement of the debut date for Golden Child. The fans were anticipating their debut, especially after the success of Infinite, their senior in Woollim Entertainment.
Woollim Entertainment released another video of their debut teaser. This time. we got to see the members’ faces and figures. We can see their cute actions in that video. All of them were so active in the sports concept. And, the debut date finally came. Jangjun and the other members released their very first single track called “DamDaDi” on August 28, 2017.
The music video is so refreshing. The vocals and the dances are awesome, too. No wonder fans liked the debut song of Golden Child. And, the next one is the video of their dance practice. The boys are so active and energetic. They really suit the concept, right?
